The Program

An independent living program built to launch him — not to return him.

Forte Strong is the nation's premier failure-to-launch program — the first of its kind and the longest-running independent living program built exclusively for young men 18–30 who have stalled out. Founded in St. George, Utah in 2011. Small by design. Seven months, on average. And unlike almost every other program in the space, we don't send graduates back to the environment they came from. We launch them into a life of their own.

What Forte Strong actually is

Forte Strong is an independent living program for young men 18–30 who have stalled out — intelligent, capable young men who can't seem to start their lives. Your son lives here, in a real home in St. George, Utah, alongside other young men working through the same thing. There is no campus. There is no facility. There is an office he goes to daily for coaching, therapy, accountability, social immersion, and assistance. There is a house, a schedule he runs himself, a coach who knows his name, a therapist who knows his story, and a team of people paying attention to how he's actually doing — every day.
We are small on purpose. Thirty beds, no more. Whenever possible — and in nearly all cases — your son works with the same coach and therapist from the day he arrives to the day he graduates. No rotating shifts, no fifty-clients-per-clinician caseloads. The people who meet your son in his first week are, by design, the people walking with him through every stage of the work.
Three at once

Three things happen here at once. That's the design.

Most programs your son could go to specialize in one dimension of the problem — clinical therapy, life coaching, or independent living skills. Forte Strong runs all three at once, coordinated by the same team, aimed at the same outcome.

Individual coaching that translates insight into action.

Every young man works one-on-one with a dedicated coach. The coach's job is to bridge the gap between what your son knows he should be doing and what he's actually doing — with weekly goals, real accountability, and the kind of steady, present relationship most stalled young men have been missing for years.

Clinical therapy tailored to what's actually stuck.

A licensed therapist works with him to identify the patterns beneath the surface — anxiety, avoidance, shame, unresolved family dynamics — and gives him the tools to dismantle them. Not endless talk therapy. Focused, structured, aimed at moving him forward.

Real-world independent living, practiced daily.

He doesn't read about adult life. He lives it. Cooking his own meals. Managing money. Holding a job. Doing his own laundry. Showing up on time. Handling conflict without exploding or shutting down. Every skill he was supposed to build in his twenties, he builds here — with people around him who notice and coach him when he doesn't.

How it ends is what makes us different.

Most independent living programs, when they work, return the young man to the environment he came from. Forte Strong doesn't.

The purpose of this program is not to stabilize your son and send him home. The purpose is to launch him — into his own apartment, his own job, his own life, or back to the higher education path he stepped away from. Every graduate leaves with a structured next-step plan built around that outcome. We even offer optional aftercare services if you need them.

This is intentional. The environment that produced the stall is rarely the environment that will sustain the launch. Every family we've worked with knows this in their gut, even when it's hard to hear. Forte Strong is built for parents who are ready to make that choice — and who want a team that will hold it with them.

moving forward

Who Forte Strong is built for.

The young men who come to Forte Strong are typically 18 to 30, most often 20 to 26. Most are pretty intelligent. Many have started college and left. Some have never left home. Most are avoiding, isolating, or escaping — into video games, into their rooms, into the day-to-day comfort of not trying.

Forte Strong is not a substance-abuse rehabilitation program. It is not a wilderness program. It is not a psychiatric facility. If your son's primary issue is substance abuse or acute mental illness, we'll tell you honestly — and help you find the right fit elsewhere.

If what you're facing is an intelligent, capable young man who has quietly stopped moving forward — Forte Strong was built for exactly that.
