The Program

Is Forte Strong the right fit for your son?

Not every young man belongs at Forte Strong. Some do. Here's how to tell.

What we hear from parents, almost every week.

Most parents who call us have been thinking about it for months before they picked up the phone. They've researched. They've argued with their spouse. They've cycled through hope and dread. And when they finally reach us, most of them say some version of the same thing:

He's really smart. He's a good kid. He doesn't drink heavily or do drugs. He's just… stuck. And nothing we've tried has worked.

If that sounds like your family, keep reading. You're probably in the right place.

we are different

The pattern we recognize

Every young man is different. But the young men who thrive at Forte Strong tend to share a familiar profile. See how many of these match your son:

  • He's 18 to 30 — most likely 20-26
  • He's intelligent, sometimes exceptionally so, but underperforming to his potential
  • He's tried college and stepped away, or never left home to begin with
  • He can't hold a job, won't apply for one, or coasts in a minimal one just to keep you off his back
  • He spends most of his time on a screen — gaming, YouTube, social media, Reddit, pornography, or other digital rabbit holes
  • His sleep is off. His diet is off. His body is off.
  • He avoids hard conversations, or lashes out when pushed into them
  • He's been in therapy — sometimes for years — without meaningful change
  • He may be on medication for anxiety, depression, ADHD, or all three
  • He's isolating from friends, from family, from the world
  • He knows something is wrong. He may even want to change. He just can't seem to start.
not the right program

When Forte Strong isn't the right fit.

Most programs your son could go to specialize in one dimension of the problem — clinical therapy, life coaching, or independent living skills. Forte Strong runs all three at once, coordinated by the same team, aimed at the same outcome.

Substance Addiction

Active substance abuse or addiction — He needs a licensed rehabilitation program first. We can help you find one.

Acute Mental Illness

Acute or unmanaged mental illness — psychosis, active suicidality, severe bipolar disorder, untreated schizophrenia — that requires a psychiatric setting.

Legal Requirements

Involvement in the criminal justice system that requires court-mandated placement.

Medical Needs

A physical medical condition that requires specialized daily care or that prevents him from actually being independent.

But what if he doesn't want to go?

We hear this on almost every admissions call. Most of the young men who come to Forte Strong did not want to come initially. Some were upset about it. Some agreed reluctantly. Some came willingly.

Within 30 days, almost all of them are grateful — not because we convinced them, but because for the first time in years, something is working.

Your son's resistance is not a sign that Forte Strong is the wrong choice. It's often a sign that it's the right one. We help you have the conversation. We talk to him directly. And we walk you through every step of getting him here.

The next step.

If you've read this far and you think Forte Strong might be the fit, the first step is our Eligibility Questionnaire. It takes about five minutes. It asks the questions that help us understand your son quickly and tell you honestly whether we're the right program for your family.
